Simone Atangana Bekono (geb. 1991) schloss 2016 ihr Studium des Kreativen Schreibens in Arnhem (NL) mit dem Gedicht- und Briefband How the First Sparks Were Visible ab, der 2018 mit dem Poetry Debut Prize by the Sea ausgezeichnet wurde. 2019 erhielt sie das Charlotte Köhler Stipendium und wurde von der Zeitung Volkskrant zu einem der literarischen Talente des Jahres 2020 ernannt. Simone Atangana Bekono (b. 1991) graduated in Creative Writing in Arnhem (NL) in 2016 with the poetry and letters collection How the First Sparks Were Visible, which won the Poetry Debut Prize by the Sea in 2018. In 2019, she received the Charlotte Köhler Scholarship and was named one of the Literary Talents of 2020 by the Volkskrant newspaper. With her debut novel Confrontaties, she won the Hebban Debut Prize, the Best Youth Book Prize and the Anton Wachter Prize, and was on the shortlists for the Libris and De Bronzen Uil literary prizes.
